FACADE STUCCO AND FACADE PROFILES FOR THE EXTERIOR FACADE
For an elegant, harmonious facade creation, some well-chosen facade profiles and decoration elements are mostly used. The most widespread are in this case the window surrounds for the frame of windows and doors, which can be complemented with a windowsill profile and a keystone. The creation of the facade is mostly completed with ashlar elements or a corner pilaster strip on the outer edge of buildings.
ELEGANT FACADE CREATION WITH CORNICE, PILASTERS AND PILASTER STRIPS
Beside the already introduced facade decoration elements, the European architecture knows or knew even other important creation mean for the facade.
Windows and doors finials were for example in the Baroque and Renaissance an important element in the facade creation and it is also used even today very often as a decorative, upper final touch by windows and doors.
Pilasters and pilaster strips are used very often for the optical structure and decoration of flat wall surfaces or facades. But unlike pilaster strips, the pilaster is finally finished on top with a capital and below with a base. Another form of the pilaster strip is the corner pilaster, which just like the ashlar element is used as a verge of the facade in the outer edge of the building.
